Free Consultation
An opportunity to meet with a therapist, either in person or virtually, prior to committing to a full therapy session to ask any questions you might have, get a sense of whether this therapist would be a good fit for you, and learn a little bit more about the therapist herself. This is NOT a therapy session, but more of a meet and greet opportunity.
Counselling Therapy
Counselling for adults/couples/families, aged 18+.
At Therapy Collective you have the option to chose the practitioner that best suits your needs. We are happy to offer a free consult with any of our therapists to afford you the opportunity to ask questions and ensure we are the right fit for you! At Therapy Collective we believe that the foundation of therapy is relationship and work from a client-centered approach. This means that you have the power to decide what your change process looks like, with the support, encouragement, and gentle challenges of a therapist who is with you throughout the journey.
Sliding scale pricing is available on a case-by-case basis for low-income clients or those experiencing financial difficulty. Please speak to a Therapist during your initial consultation or before your first appointment to set this pricing.
Child/Youth Counselling Therapy
Counselling sessions for children and youth aged 4-17.
Our therapists work from a play-based approach, meaning they use vehicles for conversation beyond talking. In session, children/youth may engage in painting/drawing, board games, imaginary play, sand tray, and/or sensory play. Play is the language kids are best versed in. It would only make sense that we use kids' strengths to help them grow and heal!
If you're a teenager, there is still room to play! Our therapists always have fidgets to help keep hands busy and bodies regulated, but you will also get to use the sand tray to help process challenging experiences in a different way, or use the paints/markers to express emotions that are hard to talk about, or just have a plain old conversation. You get to decide what your process looks like.
Couples Counselling

Art Therapy
Art Therapy for individuals/families/children/youth.
Art Therapy combines the creative process and psychotherapy, facilitating self-exploration and understanding. Using imagery, colour, and shape as part of this creative therapeutic process, thoughts and feelings can be expressed that would otherwise be difficult to articulate.

Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy combines clinical hypnosis with the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy model to help clients address unhelpful and/or unwanted beliefs and thoughts. The main goal is to create more helpful, healthy beliefs as well as challenging and removing the unwanted ones. Using clinical hypnosis can allow clients to integrate helpful core beliefs and solutions through an unconscious learning process: clients are able to accept beneficial direction and strategies while their conscious thoughts are suspended.
This method of therapy calls upon clients to remain active in between sessions as well during the sessions themselves. As with any type of therapy, meaningful long-term success is defined by the client and requires ongoing collaboration between the client and therapist. Additionally, building up supports outside of the therapy room is essential while the client is undergoing this transformative work because challenging long-held beliefs often takes a great deal of uncomfortable work.
Cognitive Behavioural hypnotherapy can help with a vast range of client issues and goals. Fundamentally, any problem that has a belief component can be successfully addressed. Although not a complete list of concerns, these are some examples of what Shannon may recommend cognitive hypnotherapy for:
Addiction (substance or process)
Anger management
Anxiety
Assertiveness and confidence
Depression
Grief and loss
Stress management
Trauma, PTSD, C-PTSD
EMDR Therapy
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy. It is an entire therapy model that has been proven to be highly effective for those who have experienced trauma.
EMDR therapy is founded on the basis that our emotional well-being is interwoven with our physical (somatic) state. Therefore, EMDR employs a body-based technique called bilateral simulation during which a therapist will guide a client through through eye movements, tones, or taps in order to move a memory that has been incorrectly stored to a more functional part of the brain.
